Compared to last Tuesday the feeder market was spotty with a good quality offering. Feeder steers 350-550 lbs appeared steady with a lite test, while the 600-700 lbs steers were 4.00 to 6.00 higher with a good supply and good demand for long weaned packages and groups. Yearling steers were 3.00 to 6.00 higher or greater in spots with a good supply and good demand. Feeder heifers 400 lbs and under were mostly steady, while the 500-700 lbs heifers were steady to 5.00 higher with a good supply and good demand for quality cattle. Buyers were active today and willing to pay premiums for quality cattle, however off colored and fatter bawling calves received heavy discounts and increased the price spread in most weight classes. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady with a moderate supply and moderate demand.
