Compared to last week, total receipts were higher, with a strong offering of feeder cattle. Overall feeder quality was good. Feeder steers sold unevenly, with 400-pound steers selling $30.00 higher, 500- to 600-pound steers selling $5.00 lower, and 700-pound steers selling $10.00 higher. Feeder heifers weighing under 500 pounds sold $5.00 lower, while those weighing over 500 pounds sold $5.00 higher. Feeder bulls sold $15.00 higher. Slaughter cattle sold steady to $5.00 lower. Demand was strong overall, supported by several quality offerings of feeder cattle and replacement heifers.
